Stop Calling Yourself Lazy ► Explained With Elden Ring

Lock in. Wake up early. Cold showers. Be disciplined. Everyone genuinely wants to improve their life. You watch a bunch of self-improvement videos. You try to figure out how to change. But what happens when you keep trying and nothing changes? You tell yourself tomorrow will be different and then tomorrow looks exactly the same. That’s when it starts to feel personal. Like maybe there’s something wrong with you. Why can’t I just do the good habits? Why isn’t my life where it should be? Why do

I keep waking up late when I swore I wouldn’t anymore? Eventually, you start thinking maybe I’m just lazy. Stop calling yourself lazy. Because if you were actually lazy, you wouldn’t care this much. You do care and that’s why you feel so bad. After so long of wanting to change but never actually changing, I started to think that I was just lazy, too. But then I played the game Elden Ring and something changed inside of me. Elden Ring is a game

That’s kind of like Dark Souls. It’s just the newest and biggest one so far. I was playing through the game for my first time pretty normally until I made it to this place called the Grand Lift of Dectus. I searched around the area and I thought it should be some kind of elevator because of the name Grand Lift. Like a lift, you know, like an elevator. I kept searching every little corner of the place and even the site of grace was

Pointing me to go in that direction. So, I was like, I know I got to go that way. But how? It’s obviously the way forward, but nothing happens. After searching around for a while, I decided there was no other way. I had to Google it. Turns out, Elden Ring is a bit more of a puzzle game than Dark Souls and there’s lots of things you need to find in order to open or unlock something else. For

This Grand Lift of Dectus, I needed to go find something called a medallion to activate the lift. Not only that, but the medallion was broken. So, I actually needed to go to two separate locations to get the two halves and put them together and then I could activate the lift. I really have no idea if there was an NPC that was supposed to tell me like, “Oh, yeah, the two pieces are here and here.” I I don’t know. I I really

Believe that the only way that I could have figured this out on my own was by Googling it. But I wasn’t stuck because I was bad at the game. I was stuck because I didn’t even know I was missing something. How could I possibly activate the lift if I thought I already had everything I needed to activate it? I had no idea I needed to go and find something else and bring it back here. There was no instruction to do that. I

Was standing there thinking maybe it wasn’t an elevator. Maybe it was just a monument that didn’t do anything. It just looks cool. But, the lift wasn’t broken. I just didn’t have what I needed to activate it. And until I did, I could stand there literally forever, running in circles, getting frustrated, even starting to blame myself, calling myself bad at the game. Why can I not figure this out? When the real issue the whole time was I didn’t even know I was

Supposed to be looking for something or what I was supposed to be looking for. And that’s what life feels like sometimes. You can see where you want to go. It’s right there, obviously, in front of you. But, if you don’t know what actually gets you closer to your goal, you just stand there, frustrated, blaming yourself, calling yourself lazy. When maybe this whole time you were not actually lazy. You were just missing something, like the two halves of the

Medallion. Finding the medallion in real life is having intentional structure. Not just the intention to want to do something eventually. And not just the structure without any desire to actually be doing what you’re doing. It has to be intentional structure. Deciding in advance when and how something happens instead of hoping you’ll feel like doing it. And that means you decide for yourself the path you want to follow. And then set up an actual plan to incorporate or act on those things in

Real life. You decide when and how something happens. For me personally, I have a habit tracker on my wall, which maybe you’ve heard me mention in other videos or in my course. But, on my habit tracker, I have meditate, gratitude, exercise, eat the frog, learning, and reading. I usually am able to complete most of the things on the tracker if I really try because like I’ve made it part of my routine to always meditate and write in my gratitude journal in the

Morning. Sometimes I’m I’m with these habits and sometimes I’m not. but I always know what to do because I actually make the time for it. But, there are two habits I always struggle with completing, reading and learning. I always prioritize the rest of the habits. By the time I ever try to read or learn, I’m already taken away by other distractions like talking to people or watching videos or whatever. But, I haven’t even made the plan to

Incorporate it into my actual routine, even though I have it written on my habit tracker. Does that make sense? Like, I know I want to do those things, but I haven’t actually done them. I always get distracted by something else, and then I call myself lazy because I didn’t do them again. I’ve tried something different recently, though. I’ve decided to actually put some intention and have some clarity for when and how I’ll do it. I’ve started

Watching an educational video during the time that I’m eating my first meal so that I actually have a fixed time every day when I learn, and it’s not just based on a whim. And now my reading time has been placed either right before I work out or right before I go to bed as my wind-down time away from screens. Before, these habits were just I’ll do them whenever I want after I complete the more important stuff. But, that

Mindset made me actually just never do it because there was no intention behind it and not really a desire to do it, even though I knew already that it was good for me and that I wanted to do it. You get what I’m saying? But, optional things don’t get done. Once reading finally had a place, it stopped being about motivation. It just became part of my structure. That’s what most people are missing, not work ethic or

Potential, intentional structure. You don’t need to be so disciplined that you wake up at 4:00 a.m., especially if you really have no business or reason to be awake at that time. You need to actually dedicate time to something if it’s important to you. Make it actually part of your routine, and then see if you’re still too lazy to do it. The reason we watch a lot of these self-improvement videos and we learn these new habits, but we never actually use them, is

Because it feels unnatural to our routine right now. If your goal, your grand lift of decktus, is for example to make a business worth a million dollars, then you know what the end goal looks like, right? The end goal is in sight, and you know the direction you want to go. We know we want to do that, and we might have even watched some videos from millionaires on YouTube explaining their habits and business models, and even

Like their step-by-step process of how to do it. But, even knowing everything about how to do it and genuinely wanting to do it, we still don’t. But, why? Because we haven’t made the time to actually implement it in our life. We still do our same routine, still watch YouTube videos at this time of day, still waste time doing stuff that doesn’t help us. Or, you go to school or work for the day, and by the time you

Get home, all you do is just eat and watch YouTube. You’re stuck in the same routine. The only way things are going to change is if you change them and you break the routine and you actually make time for those things. You actually have a plan to learn about it and implement it into your life. If we don’t try anything different or look in different places or try to research how to actually activate the lift, then we’ll

Just stay stuck there forever, right? But, if instead we can take the time to think like, “Okay, what do I need? I need to figure out what I need to do to activate the lift. How will I figure it out?” Google. Then, we can start to actually make progress and changes for our goals. But, nothing changes if nothing changes. Once you figure out what you actually need to progress and make the time to actually do it, you

Have intentional structure. Then, you’ll see that you were never actually lazy. You just haven’t gotten what you need to activate the lift yet. And the thing is that you’re absolutely capable of doing great things. You’re totally capable of making a million-dollar business or reading a book every day or having cold showers or literally any goal that you want to do, but have maybe been putting off. Maybe you can relate to my story from Elden Ring of like having to

Research where to find the two halves of the medallion to activate the lift. If you’ve played Elden Ring, there is a ton of other like that in the game. It’s genuinely a puzzle game, and I ain’t smart enough for it. But, I am determined. I’ll look on Google what to do and where to go, and then I’m off. I don’t care how long it takes or how many bosses are in the way. I’m going to get

Through all of it because I want to complete my goal now that I know what to do and where to go. The same thing is true for any game that you have to like research. How do I make this thing in Minecraft? What’s the best team composition and tactics for Overwatch? What’s the best lineup for my Clash Royale? So many of these gaming questions we already know the answer to because we genuinely studied the games. Don’t you think that requires a little

Bit of discipline to actually like go and learn about that stuff? If you think about it, you are actually disciplined, but you just didn’t think about it like it’s hard work because you actually just wanted to learn the game, and you didn’t really see it as studying. You just saw it as fun, but it actually was studying the whole time. I just don’t want you to think that you can’t do something because you definitely can. You’re not

Lazy, you’re not undisciplined. You just need some intentional structure. Anyway, that’s all I have to say for today. I really genuinely hope that this can help someone. If you like Dark Souls and self-improvement, I have a new free community that you can join. It’s just going to be the link in the description. I also have a new course that’s like how to genuinely fix your life but explained with Dark Souls. So, if that sounds interesting to you, then it’s also going

To be there, second link in the description. No pressure for either of them, just they’re there if you want, okay? You take care, guys. Don’t you dare go hollow.
